Αrt Athina Virtual: Ο μεγαλύτερος ετήσιος εικαστικός θεσμός ξεκινά το ψηφιακό του ταξίδι στις 15 Οκτωβρίου 2020

Τις διαδικτυακές της πύλες ανοίγει η Art Athina μέσω της πλατφόρμας Αrt Athina Virtual (www.aavirtual.gr) στις 15 Οκτωβρίου 2020 και υπόσχεται μια διαφορετική εμπειρία στο φιλότεχνο κοινό. Η Αrt Athina Virtual έχει τεθεί υπό την Αιγίδα της Α.Ε. της Προέδρου της Δημοκρατίας, Κατερίνας Σακελλαροπούλου.

Στην διαδικτυακή πρεμιέρα της αθηναϊκής φουάρ, που είναι μία από τις παλαιότερες στην Ευρώπη, οι επισκέπτες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να “περιηγηθούν” από τον υπολογιστή, την ταμπλέτα ή το έξυπνο τηλέφωνό τους δωρεάν σε περισσότερες από 55 γκαλερί από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό και να γνωρίσουν τους καλλιτέχνες και τα έργα που προτείνουν χωρίς κανέναν χρονικό περιορισμό, καθώς η Αrt Athina Virtual θα είναι προσβάσιμη σε 24ώρη βάση – με διαφορετικό φωτισμό το πρωί και το βράδυ- επτά ημέρες την εβδομάδα έως το τέλος Οκτωβρίου. 

Από την Αrt Athina Virtual δεν θα λείψουν οι παράλληλες δράσεις που ανέκαθεν πλαισιώναν την Art Athina και έχουν αποκτήσει σταθερό κοινό που τις παρακολουθεί όπως είναι τα Τalks, οι Performances, το αφιέρωμα στο Video και η παρουσίαση ανεξάρτητων χώρων τέχνης υπό τον τίτλο Projects. 

Το γεγονός ότι ο μεγαλύτερος ετήσιος εικαστικός θεσμός στην Ελλάδα μεταφέρεται σε ψηφιακό περιβάλλον, κάτι που οφείλεται στις πρωτόγνωρες συνθήκες που διαμορφώθηκαν με την έλευση της επιδημίας του κορονοϊου και επέβαλαν τη ματαίωση της Art Athina 2020 στο Ζάππειον Μέγαρο όπως είχε αρχικά προγραμματιστεί, δεν θα περιορίσει την επαφή του κοινού με την εικαστική δημιουργία αποκλειστικά στον κόσμο του Διαδικτύου.

Στο πλαίσιο της Αrt Athina Virtual διοργανώνεται η Art Athina Week, μια εβδομάδα δράσεων για τις ελληνικές αίθουσες τέχνης που θα διαρκέσει από τις 13 έως τις 20 Οκτωβρίου, κατά τη διάρκεια της οποίας οι γκαλερί θα μπορούν να εκθέσουν στους φυσικούς χώρους τους τα έργα που θα παρουσιάσουν διαδικτυακά.

Την ευθύνη της διοργάνωσης, όπως κάθε χρόνο, έχει ο Πανελλήνιος Σύνδεσμος Αιθουσών Τέχνης και η ομάδα της Art Athina με καλλιτεχνική διευθύντρια τη Σταματία Δημητρακοπούλου. H υλοποίηση της πλατφόρμας πραγματοποιείται με την υποστήριξη του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού.

Viewing Rooms

Οι αίθουσες τέχνης θα παρουσιάζουν το ψηφιακό τους περίπτερο μέσα από μια εύχρηστη πλατφόρμα, που θα τους επιτρέπει να επικοινωνήσουν τα έργα των καλλιτεχνών τους με το κοινό, εντός και εκτός συνόρων. Η πλατφόρμα θα υποστηρίζει επίσης και την αναπαραγωγή video, ηχητικών εγκαταστάσεων και έργων ψηφιακής τέχνης.

Projects

Ανεξάρτητοι χώροι τέχνης από την Ελλάδα και τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες θα κληθούν να παρουσιάσουν διαδικτυακά projects αποκλειστικά για την Αrt Athina Virtual. Συγκεκριμένα συμμέτεχουν οι Aetopoulos, Andreas Melas, Arch, Intermission, Radio Athènes, Serapis, Vernon Gardens.

Talks

Οι ομιλίες της Αrt Athina Virtual θα έχουν την δική τους πλατφόρμα, συνδεδεμένη με την κεντρική ιστοσελίδα και με δυνατότητα αναπαραγωγής σε όλους τους διαύλους επικοινωνίας της έκθεσης. Το πρόγραμμα, που επιμελείται η ιστορικός τέχνης Μαρίνα Φωκίδη, θα βασιστεί σε θεματικούς άξονες με επίκεντρο τους καλλιτέχνες, τους συλλέκτες, τις γκαλερί και τους θεσμικούς φορείς και στις συζητήσεις αυτές θα τεθούν μεταξύ άλλων προβληματισμοί γύρω από τη σύγχρονη τέχνη μέσα από στο πλαίσιο της νέας πραγματικότητας. 

Στο πλαίσιο της ενότητας Talks θα παρουσιαστεί το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα που υλοποιήθηκε για τρίτη χρονιά φέτος από τον Πανελλήνιο Σύνδεσμο Αιθουσών Τέχνης και το Ίδρυμα Ιωάννου Φ. Κωστοπούλου στο πλαίσιο της Art Athina. Το πρόγραμμα, που σχεδιάστηκε από την καλλιτεχνική διευθύντρια της Art Athina, Σταματία Δημητρακοπούλου, απευθύνεται σε φοιτητές της Ανωτάτης Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών, εικαστικούς και θεωρητικούς, και στόχο έχει να τους πληροφορήσει, να τους εμπνεύσει και να τους προετοιμάσει για την εισαγωγή τους στον χώρο της τέχνης.

Performance

“Ενδείξεις εγγύτητας” είναι ο τίτλος του προγράμματος Performance της Αrt Athina Virtual υπό την επιμέλεια της Mαρίνας Φωκίδη, το πρόγραμμα, φιλοδοξεί να παρουσιάσει νέες παραγωγές καθώς και ιστορικές performances. Συνολικά 24 καλλιτέχνες από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό – μεταξύ άλλων οι Λήδα Παπακωνσταντίνου, Θάλεια Χιώτη, Πάνος Χαραλάμπους, Νίκος Τρανός, Νίκος Ναυρίδης, Μαίρη Ζυγούρη, Άγγελος Σκούρτης, Γιώργος Σαπουντζής, Γεωργία Σαγρή, Liliane Lijn, Γιάννης Βαρελάς, Βασίλης Καρούκ- συμμετέχουν με έργα τους που καλύπτουν ένα χρονικό εύρος 21 ετών.

Video

Στην ψηφιακή πραγματικότητα το πρόγραμμα Video επιστρέφει στον ψηφιακό κόσμο από όπου προέρχεται. Θα περιλαμβάνει βίντεο καλλιτεχνών- μεταξύ των οποίων η Μαρίνα Αμπράμοβιτς και ο Ουλάι, ο Μενέλαος Καραμαγγιώλης, η Λουκία Αλαβάνου, η Λητώ Κάττου και ο Γιώργος Δρίβας – επιλεγμένα σε συνεργασία με φορείς και συλλογές όπως οι Daata Editions, το ίδρυμα ΔΕΣΤΕ, η συλλογή Δ.Δασκαλόπουλου, η POLYECO contemporary Art Initiative, αλλά και ανεξάρτητους καλλιτέχνες και χώρους, όπως oι Enterprise projects, υπό την επιμέλεια της καλλιτεχνικής διευθύντριας της Art Αthina, Σταματίας Δημητρακοπούλου. 

Οπτική ταυτότητα της Αrt Athina Virtual

Η φετινή οπτική ταυτότητα της Αrt Athina Virtual έχει σαφείς αναφορές στην πανδημία και τις συνέπειες της στην καθημερινότητα μας. Κάθε χαρακτήρας της νέας γραμματοσειράς αποτελείται στοιχεία τα οποία δεν εφάπτονται υπονοώντας την κοινωνική αποστασιοποίηση που επιβάλλεται για την ασφάλεια όλων μας λόγω της πανδημίας. Όπως καλούμαστε να συνεργαστούμε χωρίς να έχουμε, ωστόσο, άμεση επαφή έτσι και τα στοιχεία που αποτελούν κάθε γράμμα χωρίς να ακουμπούν το ένα στο άλλο επιχειρούν να σχηματίσουν τη σωστή εικόνα ώστε να είναι αναγνώσιμο το κείμενο. Ανάμεσά στις λέξεις εμφανίζονται σχέδια με κόκκινο χρώμα που αποτυπώνουν με χιούμορ καταστάσεις που βιώσαμε όλοι καθημερινά κατά τη διάρκεια του εγκλεισμού και επιχειρούν να προσθέσουν μια νότα αισιοδοξίας. 
Τον σχεδιασμό υπογράφουν για ακόμη μία χρονιά οι σταθεροί συνεργάτες της Αrt Athina, οι G Design Studio.

Αrt Athina Virtual

The biggest annual art event starts its digital journey on October 15^th 2020

Art Athina launches its digital programming through the platform Αrt Athina Virtual(www.aavirtual.gr) on 15th October 2020 and promises a uniquely different experience to the art-loving audience. Art Athina Virtual is under the patronage of H.E. The President of the Hellenic Republic Ms Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

During the digital premiere of the International Art Fair of Athens which is one of Europe’s oldest art fairs, the visitors will be able to navigate the art fair through their computers, tablets or smartphones and meet the artists and their artworks without time limitations, since Art Athina Virtual will be accessible 24 hours every day -with different day and night mode- 7 days per week, until the end of October.

Art Athina Virtual features the parallel programming that has always been surrounding Art Athina and has established its own audience, with sections such as Talks, Performances, Video and independent art spaces under the title Projects.

The transfer of the largest annual art institution in Greece to a digital environment due to the unprecedented conditions that emerged with the advent of the coronavirus epidemic and forced the cancellation of Art Athina 2020 at Zappeion Megaron as originally planned, will not limit the public’s contact with visual creation exclusively in the digital world.

Art Athina Virtual organizes Art Athina Week that will last from 13 to 20 October, during which the Athenian galleries will be able to exhibit in their natural spaces the works that will be presented in the viewing rooms.

As every year, the organization of the event belongs to the Hellenic Art Galleries Association and to the Art Athina team, with Artistic Director Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos. The implementation of the platform is carried out with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

Viewing Rooms

The art galleries will present their digital booths through an easy-to-use platform, which will allow them to communicate the works of their artists with the public, locally and internationally. The platform will also support video art, audio installations and digital artworks.

Projects

Independent art spaces from Greece and the United States are be invited to present their online projects exclusively for Art Athina Virtual. The participating spaces are: Aetopoulos, Andreas Melas, Arch, Intermission, Radio Athènes, Serapis, and Vernon Gardens.

Talks

The Talks program of Art Athina Virtual have their own platform connected to the main website, offering the possibility of reproduction in all the communication channels of the exhibition. The program, curated by art critic and curator Marina Fokidis, will be based on subjects focusing on artists, collectors, galleries and institutions. The discussions will include reflections on contemporary art in the context of the new reality. The Talks section will also present the Educational Program implemented for the third year by the Hellenic Association of Art Galleries and the Ioannou F. Costopoulos Foundation in the context of Art Athina. The program, designed by the artistic director of Art Athina, Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos, is addressed to students of the School of Fine Arts, and aims to inform, inspire and prepare them for their introduction to the art world.

Performance

The Performance program of Art Athina is curated by Marina Fokidis under the title “Signs of proximity” is “Signs of proximity”. The program aspires to present new productions along with historical performances. A total of 24 artists from Greece and abroad – including Lida Papakonstantinou, Thalia Chioti, Panos Charalambous, Nikos Tranos, Nikos Navridis, Mary Zygouri, Angelos Skourtis, George Sapountzis, Georgia Sagri, Liliane Lijn, Jannis Varelas, Vassilis Karoul covers a time range of 21 years.

Video

In the digital realm, the Video program returns to its roots. It includes videos of artists such as Marina Abramovic and Ulay, Menelaos Karamaghiolis, Loukia Alavanou, Leto Kattou and George Drivas – selected in collaboration with organizations and collections such as Daata Editions, DESTE Foundation, Daskalopoulos Collection,  POLYECO Contemporary Art Initiative, along with independent artists and project spaces, such as Enterprise projects. The Video program is curated by Art Athina Artistic Director, Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos.

Visual identity of Art Athina Virtual

The visual identity of Art Athina Virtual refers to the pandemic and its consequences in our daily lives. Each letter of the new typeface is made out of shapes that do not stick together, referring to the social distance that is required for the safety of all of us due to the pandemic. Just as we are called to be together without physical contact, the elements that form each letter try to form a cohesive image so that the text is legible. Among the words the visitors can see red doodles that humorously capture situations we all experienced every day during the lockdown and try to add a note of optimism to the new reality.

Art Athina’s visual identity is signed for another year by G Design Studio.
